Senior Tax Accountant

Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Tax Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of tax regulations and possess strong analytical skills. This role involves managing tax compliance, preparing complex tax returns, and providing strategic tax planning advice to clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts.
Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations, staying updated on changes and developments in tax legislation.
Conduct detailed tax research and provide interpretations of tax laws to support tax positions and strategies.
Develop and implement tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities and optimize tax benefits for clients.
Assist in tax audits, including preparation of audit workpapers and responses to tax authorities.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and disclosure.
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior tax accountants, fostering professional growth and development.
Manage tax-related projects and initiatives, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
Prepare and analyze complex financial statements and reports related to tax.
Communicate effectively with clients to understand their tax needs and provide tailored solutions.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
CPA certification required.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax accounting, with a focus on corporate tax.
Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
Proficiency in tax software (e.G., CCH, ProSystem fx, UltraTax) and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
