Senior Roadway Construction Inspector

Job Description
Our company seeks a full-time Senior Roadway Construction Inspector situated in Jackson, TN. The role involves overseeing Construction Engineering Inspection (CEI) projects with the Tennessee Department of Transportation and local municipalities. Additionally, the Senior Inspector will supervise junior Inspectors on-site.
Responsibilities
1. Perform construction inspections for bridge, highway, and railroad projects following client's procedures.
2. Manage inspection services ensuring compliance with plans and specifications for all roadway, structures, and specialty items.
3. Record construction quantities for contractor payment purposes.
4. Document and review field measurements in project records for client or auditor review.
5. Daily review of traffic control measures.
6. Document and distribute weekly project traffic control reports.
7. Inspect erosion control measures daily for compliance.
8. Address and justify any pay quantity queries from the contractor or client.
9. Maintain an accurate daily diary including contractor information, project history, events, equipment, orders, times, etc.
10. Supervise field staff and resolve queries.
11. Train new Inspectors to meet company standards.
12. Undertake additional related duties as required.
Requirements
Requirements
1. Minimum 5 years of inspection experience.
2. High school diploma preferred.
3. Valid driver’s license required.
4. Experience in transportation (bridge, roadway, rail) construction inspection.
5. Certifications:
OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety Training, Radiation Safety/Nuclear Gauge/Hazmat Training, TDOT or ACI Concrete Field Testing, TDOT Aggregate, and TDOT Hot Mix Asphalt Roadway Certifications.
6. Familiarity with Site Manager Software and Roadway Plans preferred.
7. ITS experience desirable.
8. Flexibility to work overtime, during limited nighttime construction, and willingness for overnight travel as necessary.
