Job Summary:
The Senior Grower Accountant is responsible for managing the financial transactions and records related to our grower operations. This includes overseeing grower contracts, ensuring accurate cost accounting, and providing financial analysis to support decision-making processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, exceptional analytical skills, and significant experience in the agriculture industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management:
Oversee and manage all financial transactions related to grower operations, including invoicing, payments, and reconciliations.
Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and reports for grower activities.
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and accounting standards.
Grower Contracts:
Review and manage grower contracts, ensuring terms and conditions are accurately reflected in financial records.
Monitor contract compliance and resolve any discrepancies or issues that arise.
Cost Accounting:
Analyze and allocate costs associated with grower operations, including labor, materials, and overhead.
Prepare cost reports and provide insights to management for budgeting and forecasting purposes.
Financial Analysis:
Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making processes and provide recommendations for cost-saving initiatives.
Prepare and present financial reports to management, highlighting key performance indicators and financial trends.
Leadership:
Mentor and guide junior accounting staff, providing training and support as needed.
Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.
Collaboration:
Work closely with the operations team to understand and monitor grower activities.
Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in accounting, preferably within the agriculture industry.
Proven experience in a senior accounting role.
Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and financial analysis.
Proficiency in Famous accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities.
