MDT Institute is a newly established educational institution in Duluth, GA. Our parent corporation has been successfully helping students achieve their educational goals since 1997. MDT Institute is institutionally accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES). We are currently seeking a full-time Senior Financial Aid Advisor to join our team of exceptionally motivated and passionate professionals. SUMMARY:
This person takes responsibility for high quality customer service specific to student accounts by implementing the college financial aid procedures, policies, and guidelines. Person interacts with students, parent, and the public community on a daily basis. Must be able to communicate financial information in a professional and courteous manner, to help students and parents understand their financial accountability to the college. Participates in school activities such as graduation exercises, open houses, and new student orientations. Vigorously upholds a culture of personal integrity, discipline, and accountability. DUTIES &
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides students with exceptional customer service in the office, via telephone, email, and virtual meetings
Assists with financial aid application and packaging processes
Creates students financial estimates based on financial aid availabilities
Responsible to verify and explain financial aid awards and charges associated with the student estimates
Partners with Admission staff to ensure the student completes the enrollment and financial aid process in a timely manner
Reviews and interprets applicable principles, federal, and/or state laws and regulations in the course of official duties
Communicates with our third party financial aid servicer and is the campus liaison between them and the students
Serves as a member of the appeals committee
Participates in quality assurance review and serves as the record review analyst to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree or higher
A minimum of (3) years of professional experience in financial aid office.
Strong listening, problem analysis and solving skills.
Organizational skills with an attention to detail.
Has stress tolerance and resilience when responding to challenging customers.
Ability to work alone or within a team.
Ability to comprehend, analyze, interpret, and apply established law, regulations, procedures, precedents, and guidelines.
Ability to keep confidentiality of student/parent financial and personal information.
Ability to work in a fast paced/demanding environment.
