We are looking for a dynamicSenior Event Coordinator to join our team. The Senior Event Coordinator supports the various events and initiatives for interagency meetings, strategic engagement activities, research forums, and master classes. The coordinator has experience developing all necessary artifacts and products, including agendas, communication products, meeting presentations, minutes, after-action reports, etc.
This position is contingent upon award.
Responsibilities:
Plan and execute various corporate events, including conferences, seminars, product launches, and social gatherings
Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure the successful execution of events
Develop and manage event budgets, including negotiating contracts and managing expenses
Conduct thorough research to identify suitable venues, suppliers, and service providers
Create detailed event proposals, including timelines, budgets, and event concepts
Oversee event registration and ticketing processes
Coordinate with marketing and communications teams to ensure effective event promotion
Manage event logistics, including venue setup, audiovisual equipment, and catering
Coordinate and supervise event staff, including event assistants and volunteers
Conduct post-event evaluations and provide recommendations for future improvements
Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in event planning
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS)
Minimum 5 yearsof experience
Able to obtain a minimum of NACI (National Agency Check with Inquiries) for a Veterans Affairs Public Trust Tier 1 Clearance
Required Skills:
In-depth knowledge of event planning and management principles, best practices, and procedures
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain stakeholder relationships
Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
Proficient in event management software and tools
Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Availability to work evenings and weekends, as required
Desired Skills:
Bachelor's degree in event management, hospitality, or a related field is preferred
Certification in event planning or project management is a plus
Government contracting experience
DoD and VA experience as a contractor or otherwise
Former military experience
