Enterprise Data Analytics team provides a robust, scalable, secure and compliantcloud data platform with capabilities including ingestion, orchestration, largescale data processing, analytics, machine learning engineering, and BI amongothers. Enterprise Data Analytics helps to maintain and advance cloud dataplatforms and services to build data products powering our various lines ofbusinesses and customers.
About the role:
Experienced Snowflake Cloud Data Platform Administrator, who will plan, design,develop and implement Snowflake cloud data platform capabilities that followsindustry best practices. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of technical prowess, strategic thinking, anda collaborative spirit to drive our data platform infrastructure forward whileensuring its reliability, security, and
Compliance with industry standards.
What you will be doing:
Work in a globally distributed team to provide robust enterprise dataplatform in Snowflake
Serve as a Snowflake Architect, playing a pivotal role in designing andimplementing solutions that address both operational and strategicneeds of the enterprise.
Actively contribute to the expansion of platform capabilities byunderstanding and interpreting evolving business needs, ensuring the
Snowflake environment remains aligned with organizational goals andobjectives.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities forinnovation and improvement, facilitating the development and integrationof new features and functionalities into the Snowflake data platform to support growth and adaptability.
Design, optimize, and document the operational aspects of the Snowflakecloud data platform, including aspects such as cost monitoring andoptimizations, user security auditing, and overall platform configuration.
Spearhead the automation of infrastructure provisioning and useraccount setup within the Snowflake environment, leveraging ContinuousIntegration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) methodologies to streamlineprocesses and reduce manual overhead
Develop a Snowflake utilization and capacity plan to guide efficientresource allocation and scaling decisions.
Identify system bottlenecks and recommend solutions to ensure optimalperformance and reliability.
Implement data encryption, decryption, and masking policies to protectsensitive information such as PII/PCI data, ensuring compliance withrelevant standards and regulations.
Administer Snowflake on AWS, focusing on configuration, data migration,and security to safeguard the data platform.
Troubleshoot problems across infrastructure, platform, and applicationdomains, providing timely and effective solutions.
Stay informed about best practices, standards, and new feature releasesrelated to Snowflake design and architecture, sharing knowledge andupdates with the team.
Develop and suggest innovative solutions leveraging Snowflake's newfeatures and latest industry trends, enhancing the development team'scapabilities and the platform's overall performance.
Lead efforts to improve the onboarding experience for users, teams, anddata products onto the Snowflake platform. Develop and implementstructured onboarding processes and documentation, making it easier fornew users and teams to get started and for new data products to beseamlessly integrated into the platform
What you bring:
Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of work experience (or) Master’s Degree
And 3+ years of work experience in Computer Science, Information
Systems, or another related field.
Related experience in Snowflake administration
Database administration and data engineering
Experience using AWS services
Extensive hands-on experience with Python,SQL and DBT
Snowflake Pro certification
Deep knowledge of all Snowflake features, with aparticular emphasis on advanced security measures (Data Masking, TriSecret Secure), data sharing, and application development. This includesa robust understanding of Snowflake's operational intricacies such asresource monitoring, RBAC, query performance tuning, and efficient datamanagement practices.
Hands-on experience managing Snowflake and integrations within the AWS environment
Your background should include extensive work with relational databases,data warehouses, and data marts. Proficiency in the design andarchitecture of databases, data warehouses, and data lakes is expected.
Solid grasp of various security frameworks and protocols (e.G., SAML,SCIM, OAuth, OpenID, Kerberos), alongside knowledge of cloud securitybest practices (encryption, key management), is essential forsafeguarding our data infrastructure.
Experience in developing monitoring architectures and implementing solutions, including dashboards, alerts, and health checks, is key tomaintaining the health and performance of our systems.
You should have strong coding skills in Python and Snowflake SQL,familiarity with DBT, and a strong foundation in database design andmodeling principles.
Experience with containerizing applications and deploying containersusing docker and Jenkins.
A proven track record in Agile and DevOps practices is important forfostering continuous improvement and collaboration within our team.
Demonstrated experience leading data architecture projects, guidingdatabase migrations, enhancing data security, and optimizingperformance is critical.
Adept at integrating various datasources and ensuring the scalability and efficiency of data models.
Effective communication skills are vital for interacting with a diverserange of team members and stakeholders, conveying complex technicalconcepts in an understandable manner.
A commitment to ongoing education to remain current on Snowflakeupdates and enhancements, establishing yourself as a subject matterexpert within the team.
Experience in Snowflake design and architecture, databaseadministration, and data engineering is required. This should include working on large-scale, data-intensive distributed systems
