Senior Csa Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor – Construction

Job Description
Who are you?
You are a construction professional who specializes in Civil, Structural and Architectural (‘Core and Shell’) Cost Estimating in the Commercial Real Estate, Manufacturing, Healthcare and/or relatable industries with a minimum of 4 years post-graduate experience.
Job Objectives:
Develop cost estimates from drawings and specifications.
Work effectively and negotiate costs with Contractors.
Use the appropriate estimating tool (client tools, customized estimating spreadsheets, industry estimating software, benchmarking, etc.).
Perform all aspects of estimating, analysis and verification of contractor costs.
Manage cost checks and carry out valuations on larger projects, and ensure timely and accurate cost checking, and valuation process.
Provide input into value engineering;
negotiate and approve final costs.
Be a Team Player – support the Cost team, be flexible and maintain a positive attitude.
Pre-Contract
Develop cost plans and estimates through the design phase, delivering updated cost plans at appropriate design milestones.
Provide commercial input to design optioneering and input into value engineering exercises.
Review contractor and subcontractor pricing and leading negotiations on behalf of the client to drive fair contract prices.
Post-Contract
Perform quantity surveying, cost controls and change management activities throughout the project lifecycle.
Ensure that post-contract cost variances and change control processes are managed effectively.
Ensure that cost auditing and valuation work is managed effectively and that a robust process for cost validation is in place.
Carry out the production of monthly cost reports for presentation to the client.
Ensure that final accounts are negotiated and agreed in a timely manner.
Compile as built cost estimate records for benchmarking purposes.
