Purpose:

Global Label Management (GLM) in Operations Quality is responsible for AbbVie’s end-to-end labeling and packaging artwork process in Operations. The Senior Artwork Developer assesses incoming artwork development projects/tasks for compliance with system and process procedures as well as creates and edits product packaging artworks to support new product introductions and product labeling revisions for AbbVie and Third Party customer products (where applicable);
artwork for promotionalmaterial, images/symbols and 3D renderings. The Senior Artwork Developer provides innovation and creativity in the application of graphics. Artwork change details are received through AbbVie’s Artwork Management System, internal Global Label Management organization representatives and affiliates across the world. Artwork development is created according to policies, procedures, and right first-time principles in a timely manner to meet established timelines.
Responsibilities:
- Assess incoming artwork development projects/tasks for compliance with system and process procedures prior to starting artwork development. Ensure completeness, accuracy, and control of artwork in labeling through AbbVie’s Artwork Management System
- Provide innovation and creativity in the application of graphics, including 3d rendering, within the constraints imposed by packaging, regulatory standards and printer requirements.
- Technical expert on graphics, packaging and pre-press, including but not limited to packaging configurations, variable data, barcode requirements and printing. Successfully resolve routine technical challenges related to artwork development and provide support to component suppliers, package engineering, marketing and manufacturing sites.
- Create and edit artwork according to source information, packaging specifications, equipment specifications, print supplier requirements, and right first-time principles while adhering to project schedule.
- Stay on task for multiple projects simultaneously. Manage own projects by evaluating project status and collaborating with team members to meet project deadlines.
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders involved in artwork development to create artwork per schedule and Right First Time.
- Proofreading artwork and printer proofs for adherence to requested changes, technical requirements and printing considerations
- Support analysis of key department metrics and identify opportunities for metrics improvements
- Manage and maintain all Graphics equipment in accordance with internal regulations.
- Manage and maintain department procedures, instructions and artwork/product guidelines to ensure proper documentation, system adherence and alignment with current best practices.
