Overview
This position will work closely under the Accounting Manager overseeing general accounting operations and perform complex accounting tasks, including journal entries, reconciliations, and verifying financial transactions. The Senior Accountant will assist in reviewing the effectiveness and accuracy of all accounting tasks, including transactional processing, financial analysis, and monthly financial statements. The candidate should have a drive and desire to learn while supporting the successful growth of the Company.
Key Responsibilities
Ability to understand, create and post basic and complex journal entry transactions.
Preparation of monthly general ledger account reconciliations.
Liaises with Accounting Manager to resolve concerns.
Perform various analyses on specific general ledger accounts.
Assist in gathering data and schedules required for audit and tax filings.
Assist in managing accounts receivable, cash receipt and billing functions.
Maintaining sales and use tax certificates and reviewing related tax postings in the general ledger.
Improve accounting systems by creating useful suggestions and reports to management.
Review accounts and financial records to discover discrepancies and errors.
Assist with special projects as needed.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
Minimum 2 years senior level accounting experience.
CPA license preferred, but not required.
Familiarity with accounting and finance principles and procedures.
Demonstrated broad US GAAP knowledge.
Ability to independently analyze general ledger accounts, investigate variances and correct errors.
Leadership qualities to train and guide staff team members.
Experience with SAP or similar accounting systems preferred.
Strong computer skills;
Proficient with Microsoft Office products and Advanced Excel user.
Strong interpersonal &
communication skills with the ability to communicate with people of all levels of the organization professionally.
Demonstrated ability to take the lead and work independently on projects.
Possess negotiation and problem-solving skills.
Must work well in a team environment
Very well organized and the ability to multi-task
