Job Description
Allergan Aesthetics Biological Research group in Irvine, CA is seeking a highly motivated candidate with a focus on cell biology and in vitro pharmacology who will contribute to multi-disciplinary research in a highly collaborative environment. The successful candidate will support projects aimed at pharmacological characterization of protein-based therapeutics. He/she will design and conduct a variety of in vitro and cell-based assays to evaluate the activity and functionality of therapeutic proteins. The candidate will be a technical expert who will independently investigate, identify, develop and optimize new methods/ techniques to address critical project needs. He/she will continuously seek to improve existing laboratory methods and processes. Read and adapt literature to accomplish assignments. Demonstrate mastery of broad range of experimental techniques and methods of data analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
· Independently design, execute and interpret critical experiments to answer scientific questions.
· Understand the broad objectives of the project as well as their role in achieving those objectives, and modify experimental plan when required, to respond.
· Perform data analysis, write scientific reports, and provide presentations to multidisciplinary teams.
· Work with cross-functional team members to accomplish the goals and requirements of the organization.
· Innovate and implement new experimental protocols.
· Demonstrate a high level of proficiency in his/her field.
· Set and meet experimental timelines.
· Learn, understand, and master new experimental techniques, and act as a resource or mentor for others.
· Routinely read and apply relevant scientific literature. Contribute to writing and conceptual framework of publications, presentations, and patents. Effectively organize and present scientific plans and data.
· Understand and adhere to corporate standards regarding code of conduct, safety, appropriate handling of materials, controlled drug, and radioactive compounds, GxP compliance, and animal care where applicable
