Job Summary:
The purpose of this position is to provide guidance, prevention, counseling, behavioral intervention and coordinated services to students experiencing social, emotional, and academic problems.
Duties/Responsibilities:

Assist students and staff in understanding and seeking solutions to social, emotional, or academic problems.
Serve as a resource for student behavior management strategies and welfare and attendance concerns.
Support students in developing decision-making skills, awareness of self-concept, learning style, interpersonal skills and personal responsibility.
Facilitate individual and group counseling, consultation, crisis counseling and peer-focused conflict resolution.
Facilitate Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) content and Psychoeducational topics in individual and group formats.
Communicate with staff, students, and parents regarding prevention-based resources and referral options.
Assess students for risk to self, others, or for suicidality and make referrals as appropriate.
Meet, confer, and counsel with parents, school personnel, and members of various youth serving agencies to develop alternative solutions to student educational, social, and emotional problems and concerns.
Serve as a referral resource to social service agencies and community resources. Coordinate care with outside agencies.
Adhere to the military structure of the program.
