Saw Operator - 2nd Shift

We work one-on-one with great candidates to help connect them with local employment opportunities. We are seeking candidates for Saw Operator roles on the 2nd shift. Compensation for these contract positions is $19.00-$22.00 per hour, based on skills and experience. Interested? Get more details below! What you will do as a Saw Operator:

• Operate battery of saws to perform such operations as rip sawing, cross cutting, beveling, grooving, and mitering
• Lay out, positions, aligns, secures, and prioritizes material, parts, or assemblies prior to sawing
• Select sawing disk blade according to type of cut specified on work order and bolts disk to machine shaft
• Raise, lower, or tip saw table to specified angle according to depth of cut specifications
• Measure finished product to verify dimension and examines for defects to ensure conformance with specifications
• Replace worn or damaged saw blades using hand tools
• Cut, sharpen, shine, and remove all sharp edges from metal
• Operate drill presses, grinders, and a variety of hand tools
• Performs routine maintenance on equipment and determines when and what kind of maintenance is needed

What you need to be a Saw Operator:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Basic math skills
• Basic computer skills
• Must be detailed oriented
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement processes
• 4 + years of experience in a similar position
• Ability to stand for pro-long periods of time
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations
