Overview:
Supervise and coordinate the execution of the company sanitation program to ensure we comply with regulatory, GFSI, customer, and internal requirements in a citrus washing, preparation, and packing facility. Ensure sanitation associates work in a manner that follows all company safety guidelines to decreases risk of injury to themselves and fellow associates. Ensure Good Manufacturing Practice guidelines, SSOPs and the seven steps for the sanitation cleaning process are understood and completed by all associates in performance of their job assignments to ensure food is safely processed. Conduct audits of facility to ensure standards are being met and initiate any root cause analysis necessary to lead to the appropriate corrective actions. Assist the sanitation manager in leading the continuous improvement of sanitation to ensure food safety and minimize yield loss due to unsatisfactory sanitation practices. Increase efficiency in both labor and quality with development of new cleaning processes and effective communication with sanitation associates and management.
Here's what you'll do:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Supervise a team of employees responsible for operational sanitation, and end of production sanitation in preparation for daily facility startup.
Maintain and review the daily and periodic sanitation records. Ensure corrective actions for any discrepancies found by Quality Assurance or any other departments to observations are corrected and documented.
Follow-up on any discrepancies that may occur.
Have a presence on the floor that ensures your interaction with associates and observations of their work.
Verify the accuracy of SSOPs. Complete and update SSOPS if necessary.
Verify MSS activities and document when completed.
Update the MSS SSOP if necessary to ensure sanitation meets process requirements, goals and expectations.
Coach and inspire each member of their area to achieve a higher level of performance. Be a good role model in the department.
Lead all safety meetings, incident investigations, follow-ups and audits as well as represent area in Safety committee meetings as a Safety Champion.
Assist in the continuous improvement efforts for Safety, Quality, Efficiency, Cost Productivity and efficiency.
Monitor associate hours and clock times for breaks, lunch and final clock out.
Coordinate with sanitation leads to assign work task for sanitation employees based on scheduled production shut down times.
Coordinate with production management on any changes to production schedules and make manning adjustments with leads to ensure lines are cleaned on time.
Assist in the identification of annual goals for lead sanitation team members and provides the development and/or tools for the team members to achieve those goals.
Conduct Safety and Food Safety audits to assure compliance to WC standards.
Maintain audit readiness for Corporate, GMP, Government agencies, or other third party audits by ensuring all quality documentation is complete.
Manage chemical and cleaning supply inventory by ensuring availability of cleaning supplies and makes purchase requisitions when needed.
Completes disciplinary action as needed for non-compliant associates as needed in accordance with our employee manual and/or department standards and expectations.
Maintain ATP results and microorganism levels within company standards and initiates any necessary corrective actions for repetitive failures.
Provide timely and accurate reporting in compliance with quality and food safety programs including sanitation inspections, sanitation/food safety violations, and corrective actions to resolve deficiencies.
Actively promote Wonderful Citrus continuous improvement activities
Assist the sanitation manager in conducting accurate and effective training to new and tenured employees.
Make associate daily schedules for daily and overtime production schedules.
Understand Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Food Safety Information Systems (FSIS) requirements with regard to safe food manufacture and food safety in this facility.
Understand the seven steps of sanitation cleaning process.
Have a physical presence on the floor to observe sanitation associates perform their work duties. Provide hands on training if it is required.
