Salt Senior Accountant

Hire Resolve's client, a reputable accounting firm in Chicago, is seeking a highly skilled SALT (State and Local Tax) Senior Accountant to join their team. As an integral member of the firm's tax department, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients and providing expert guidance on state and local tax compliance and planning matters.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and review various state and local tax filings, including sales and use tax returns, property tax returns, and income tax returns.
Perform tax research and analysis to ensure compliance with state and local tax laws and regulations.
Advise clients on tax planning strategies to minimize liability and optimize state and local tax positions.
Assist clients with tax audits and other tax controversy matters.
Stay up-to-date on changes in state and local tax laws and regulations.
Collaborate with clients and internal teams to develop and implement tax planning initiatives.
Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior staff members.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
CPA or MST (Master of Science in Taxation) certification is highly preferred.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in state and local tax compliance and planning.
Strong knowledge of state and local tax laws and regulations.
Experience with tax research tools and software.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple client engagements.
