Title:
Construction Safety Manager
Job Summary:
Gottstein Corporation is seeking a highly skilled and proactive Construction Safety Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing safety programs in compliance with OSHA, to ensure a secure and safe work environment on the job sites.
Responsibilities:
Safety Program Development:
Develop and implement comprehensive safety programs in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging safety trends.
Site Inspections and Audits:
Conduct regular safety inspections and audits on construction sites to identify potential hazards.
Collaborate with project managers to address and rectify safety concerns.
Training and Education:
Develop and deliver safety training programs for construction site personnel.
Ensure that all employees are aware of and adhere to safety protocols.
Incident Investigation:
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
Maintain detailed records of incidents and their resolutions.
Safety Compliance:
Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.
Keep abreast of changes in safety regulations and update company policies accordingly.
Emergency Preparedness:
Develop and implement emergency response plans for construction sites.
Conduct drills and training exercises to ensure preparedness.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Management, or a related field.
Proven experience (5+ years) as a Safety Manager in the construction industry.
Strong knowledge of construction safety regulations, codes, and standards.
Professional certifications such as OSHA 10, OSHA 30, CSP, CHST, or similar are preferred.
Management Skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Leadership abilities to foster a strong safety culture.
Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
