Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Room - Flow Coordinator - 11a-11p

$30,000 Sign-on Bonus Eligible

Position Summary:

  • Facilitate patient flow through the Emergency Department to provide optimum efficiency in department resources and timely management of patient care.
  • Coordinate patient flow in an efficient manner through collaboration with hospital and medical staff.
  • Determine bed placement of EMS and walk-in patients in collaboration with the charge nurse.
  • Coordinate and facilitate transfers out of the ED (facility transfers and admissions).
  • Coordinate tasks to expedite patient throughput such as cleaning patient rooms, discharging patients, and transporting patients.
  • Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to identify and resolve issues related to patient throughput

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduate of a Program in Professional Nursing required.
  • Registered Nurse from the Virginia Board of Nursing or compact State required
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Previous experience in acute care hospital setting preferred
  • Required skills/abilities
    • Time management
    • Work independently
    • Thorough knowledge of ED throughput
    • Multi-tasking
    • Adaptable to constant change
    • Effective communication with all members of the healthcare team
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association required
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) American Heart Association required or within 90 days hire
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) American Heart Association
