Registered Nurse (RN) - Float Pool - Nights - 7pm-7am
$30,000 Sign-on Bonus

Position Summary:
Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing processin accordance withapplicable scope and standardsof practice.
Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical caretreatment.
Documents patient care given.
Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition asappropriate tocare team, physician, patient, and family.
Detects change in patient status, reports toappropriate healthcare teammemberandutilizesresources as dictated by the acuity. Assigns priorities to the patient’s problems with highest priority given to problems that are most urgent and critical.
Assistspatients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge,referraland spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family andprovidespatient/family educationappropriate toage,culture, condition, and circumstances.
Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

Minimum Qualifications:
Registered Nurse from the Virginia Board of Nursing or compact Staterequired.
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Must have two (2) years hospital nursing experience in acute care, ICU and/or Emergency Departmentrequired.
Requires critical thinking skills, decisivejudgmentand the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able towork in a stressful environment and takeappropriate action.
Requires flexibility in scheduling and ability to work all shift patterns includingweekendsand holidays toensurecontinuity of care and appropriateness of nursing coverage to the patients of Sovah Health Martinsville on all units.
Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Associationrequired
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) American Heart Associationrequiredor within three (3) months of hire
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) American Heart Association OR Emergency Nurse Pediatric Certification
(ENPC) Emergency Nurse Associationrequired orwithin six (6) months of hire.
