Responsibilities:
Respond to patient needs and requests as they arise in a timely manner.
Verify and document vital signs, intake and output records;
administer medication, such as taking blood pressure, administering pain medication and antibiotics.
Present information to patients and families that helps to decrease potential trauma and stress.
Take patients' histories, explain surgical procedures, and assist patients through recovery.
Provide advice to patients about how to care for themselves after returning home.
Follow infection prevention guidelines.
Administer medications as prescribed.
Communicate with other healthcare providers as needed.
