Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the retail team, including sales associates, supervisors, and support staff, to ensure the highest levels of service, sales performance, and operational efficiency.
Develop and implement sales strategies, promotional campaigns, and merchandising plans to drive retail revenue and meet or exceed sales targets and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Monitor sales performance, inventory levels, and product mix, and analyze sales data and trends to identify opportunities for growth, cost savings, and operational improvements.
Foster a culture of customer service excellence, product knowledge, and salesmanship among retail staff, providing training, coaching, and feedback to enhance their skills and performance.
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards for retail operations, including cash handling, inventory management, and customer service.
Liaise with onboard departments, including marketing, guest services, and entertainment, to coordinate retail promotions, events, and activities that enhance the guest experience and drive sales.
Maintain relationships with external vendors, suppliers, and brand partners, negotiating contracts, managing inventory orders, and ensuring timely delivery of merchandise.
Conduct regular inspections of retail facilities, displays, and merchandise presentation to ensure compliance with brand standards, cleanliness, and visual appeal.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, Marketing, or related field;
Master's degree preferred.
years of experience in retail management, preferably in the cruise, hospitality, or luxury retail industry, with a track record of success in achieving sales targets and delivering exceptional customer service.
Strong leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop a diverse team of retail staff.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships, negotiate contracts, and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Proven ability to analyze sales data, identify trends, and develop actionable insights to drive sales performance and operational improvements.
Knowledge of retail merchandising principles, visual presentation techniques, and inventory management best practices.
Familiarity with retail technology, Point-of-Sale (POS) systems, and inventory management software.
Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required in a 24/7 operation onboard a cruise ship.
