Respiratory Therapist
job description
We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will be responsible for assessing, treating, and caring for patients with breathing and cardiopulmonary disorders. You will work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to develop treatment plans, monitor patient progress, and adjust therapies as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct patient assessments to identify respiratory and cardiopulmonary disorders
- Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare providers
- Administer oxygen, medications, and other respiratory therapies as prescribed
- Monitor and interpret pulmonary function tests and arterial blood gas results
- Educate patients and their families on respiratory care techniques and disease management
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including progress notes, treatment plans, and test results
- Respond to emergency situations and provide life support as needed
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers to provide comprehensive patient care

Requirements
Qualifications:
- Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field
- Current state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist
- Certification by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- Strong knowledge of respiratory care techniques and equipment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights and weekends
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
