** 8 Hour Day Shift**Job Summary:
**Under general supervision, assists department manager in overseeing and directing all aspects of Respiratory Care Services provided on assigned shift. Provides respiratory care services and pulmonary diagnostics within the guidelines of the Respiratory Care services department policy and procedure manual, performing all clinical RCP duties as applied in general care areas, critical care (i.E. SICU, CICU, ED, PACU, NICU, and PICU) and Labor and Delivery. Provides assessment, treatment and care for neonate, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients. Is proficient in all required competencies. Assists in the planning, organizing, supervising, and educating staff for the daily operations and clinical practice of Respiratory Care Services. Consistently demonstrates behaviors that model the SJHS core values and the hospital's mission statement.**Skills:
**+ Knowledge of Respiratory therapy procedures as applied to all age patients, equipment operation and techniques, I including administration of therapeutic medical gases.+ Verbal and written interpersonal communication skills for regular contact with Doctors, employees, patients, and patient families. Ability to supervise effectively. Diplomacy is required.+ Analytical skills necessary in order to observe and evaluate patients during therapy and to notify medical direction in cases of patient adverse reaction.+ Ability to assess the effectiveness of treatment modality.+ Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail. The ability to make decisions and handle varying procedures amid frequent interruptions.+ Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time while performing therapy.+ Ability to lift and position adult patient with help. Visual capability to observe patients and monitoring equipment. Ability to push, lift, and pull respiratory therapy equipment from storage to patient care areas.+ Ability to work with and direct others in a flexible, cooperative manner.+ Must be proficient in required competencies upon completion of orientation, as listed on the unit specific competency inventory.**Position Requirements:
** Bachelors in Science in Respiratory for those hired after 12/31/18**Experience:
** Four years clinical experience in acute care facility**License / Certification:
**+ Valid California state license for RCP;
+ Healthcare Provider BLS from American Heart Association;
+ ACLS, PALS and NRP required, must maintain all 3 of these certifications while in this role.**Preferred Position Qualifications:
** Masters Degree in Respiratory**Experience:
** Two years supervisory experience**License / Certification:
