Position Summary
Under the leadership and supervision of the Head of Public Service, the Resource Sharing &
Library Collections Coordinator helps provide inter-library loan services to North Park patrons and assists in maintaining the libraries physical collections. Responsibilities include receiving incoming shipments of ILL books and preparing book shipments and scanning articles to send to other libraries. This position will also work closely with Collections Department librarians to maintain up to date holdings records for the physical collection. This position is budgeted for $18/hour and 18 hours/week. The position will report to the Head of Public Services.
Processing incoming IShare shipments
Preparing outgoing IShare shipments
Assisting the Head of Public Services with OCLC Lending requests
Following up on books reported missing by patrons or not found when pulling IShare books
Participating in ongoing library inventory and shelf maintenance initiatives
Assisting with the regular operations of the Public Services department
Working on special collections projects including weeding, shifting, and pulling books for the
Collections department
Requirements
BA or equivalent degree
Interest in Academic Libraries, previous library experience preferred
Enjoy working alongside and assisting university students
Possess a clear understanding and personal commitment to North Park University’s mission of Christian higher education.
Have good attention to detail and excellent organizational and planning skills.
Be customer-friendly and hospitable.
Ability to work collegially with professional staff and complete assigned projects
Proficiency with technology including the Microsoft Suite:
Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.
