The role is an opportunity for those with a background in boundary layer or observational meteorology to apply their skills in numerical problem solving, meteorology or engineering to the design and construction of efficient wind and solar energy assets.
The Resource Assessment Manager will work on early to mid-stage wind and solar development, assist in greenfield prospecting efforts, create preliminary wind/solar turbine/panel layouts, and design/support the development of the project observation campaign to ensure quality data collection.
If you are an experienced professional, please tell us about your accomplishments in the cover letter section. If you are a recent grad, use the cover letter as an opportunity to highlight academic research. Either way, Scout is particularly interested in experience related to:
Surface/ boundary layer meteorology, observational and/or modeling
Applications of scanning and profiling Lidar and Sodar, particularly applications related to wind energy
Synoptic/Meso and Micro-scale modeling
The WRF Fitch windfarm parameterization is particularly relevant
Application of meteorological reanalysis datasets and/or downscaling
Climatic analysis related to different RCP scenarios and their impact on human systems
Application of novel algorithms to real world problems, particularly in energy
Applications of wavelet, machine-learning and/or neural-networks
