General Summary:
Under limited supervision, the patient care clinician – Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse, is responsible for the assessment and
Monitoring of patients undergoing cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology studies, pacemaker implantations, and other designated
Procedures performed in the cardiac catheterization laboratory. Additional duties include assisting the physician with procedures, and
Patient education and preparation prior to the procedure as well as after the procedure.
Clinicians are members of the cardiac cath care team and have accountability to function as a team in order to accomplish patient
Outcomes as identified by established pathways. The patient care clinician is a professional care giver who assumes responsibility and
Accountability for care given to patients undergoing cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology studies, pacemaker implantations, or other
Designated procedures performed in the cardiac catheterization laboratory, while the patient remains in the cath lab or in the patient
Recovery area. The clinician, working as a member of the health care team, provides care according to established standards. Patients
Served include adults and adult geriatrics.

Reporting Relationships
Reports to the Administrative Director of Cardiac Catheterization. Job requires a limited level of supervision. Functions under the
Direction of the Administrative Director of Cardiac Catheterization and the medical director of the Cardiac Cath Lab.
