What you'll do on a typical day:

  • Support business development and sales by developing, writing, editing and coordinating proposals for complex business-to-business services
  • Review customer requests for information (RFIs) and requests for proposals (RFPs), interpret requirements and coordinate response requirements
  • Critically engage and collaborate with other functional groups such as Sales, Engineering, Operations, IT, Finance and Legal
  • Manage the proposal process of gathering everything needed that will make up the response from all participating departments within tight timelines
  • Use strong leadership skills to develop strategic, persuasive messaging that connects client requirements to business solutions and goals
  • Manage accountability on deliverables to meet deadlines
  • Write new template/collateral material as required and customize existing template material that will be part of the response
  • Edit content for clarity to ensure a strong value proposition and consistency in our solution;
    perform a technical edit to ensure a standard look and feel of the final product (brand voice, format, etc.)
  • Use SharePoint to organize, track, update and store electronic materials

What you need to succeed at GXO:

At a minimum, you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with peers, executives and clients
  • 1 year of experience as a Proposal Writer, Copywriter or Editor in a professional environment
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Strong time management and project management skills, with the flexibility to manage and prioritize multiple and changing tasks
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook), SharePoint and Teams

It'd be great if you also have:

  • Experience supporting a business development team or function
  • 2-3 years of experience as a Proposal Writer, Copywriter or Editor in a professional environment
  • Experience with supply chain logistics and global teams
  • Self-motivated and able to work well with minimal supervision or in a team environment;
    resourceful and results-oriented
  • Ability to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
