AWIM PM Role FY25 JD
Summary:
The Azure, Windows, and Industry Monetization (AWIM) team within Cloud Marketings Monetization + Business Planning organization plays a crucial role in advancing Microsofts revenue yield strategies. Our focus is on driving sustainable profit growth through impactful monetization strategies, packaging, and pricing. Our charter extends across key growth areas, including Azure solution domains, Windows client and cloud offerings, as well as our Education and Industry programs. We take ownership of end-to-end monetization, from business strategy development to execution.
The Revenue Optimization and Applied Data Science (ROADS) team is AWIMs scientific engine. The ROADS team applies rigorous methodologies to test hypotheses, measure outcomes, and refine strategies. As a PM, youll manage the experimentation pipeline of the ROADS team, translating their data-driven ideas into actionable steps that shape our monetization landscape.
The ROADS team has pioneered AWIMs Behavioral Economics Program, which will be the primary focus of your responsibilities as a PM. The ROADS team employs a strategy known as nudging to drive cross-sell outcomes. This approach involves collaboration with UX Designers and Engineers in the Cloud Experiences Studio (CXS). By educating our customers to the benefits of complementary services and reducing customer buying friction, we succeed in introducing users to new Azure services that seamlessly integrate with their existing portfolio. Nudge strategies are most frequently deployed on the Azure Portal and within Copilot.
In this role, youll be the facilitator of creativity and experimentation, managing the lifecycle of experiments from ideation to market implementation. Managing a wide network of stakeholders, across multiple organizations and disciplines, will be critical to success.
Job Responsibilities:
1) Experimentation Pipeline Management
As the PM for the ROADS team, your primary responsibility will be to manage the experimentation pipeline for the Behavioral Economics Program. This involves translating data-driven ideas from our Data Scientists into actionable steps that shape our monetization strategies. Youll oversee the end-to-end process, from hypothesis testing to execution, ensuring that our experiments contribute to durable profit growth for Microsoft.
The experimentation pipeline is inclusive of managing graduated experiments that have become permanent implementations within Microsofts ecosystem. This means continued testing for a nudges effectiveness post-implementation, as well as continued iteration on prior nudges that graduated into the Microsoft ecosystem.
2) Stakeholder Network Management
Success in this role hinges on your ability to navigate a wide network of stakeholders. Youll collaborate across multiple organizations and disciplines, including Business Planners, Data Scientists, UX Designers, and Engineers. Clear communication, alignment, and fostering collaboration will be critical. Whether its securing approvals, articulating strategies, or synthesizing insights, your role as a connector will shape our enduring success.
The Behavioral Economics Program will count on the PM to coordinate meetings, maintain momentum among stakeholders, and provide support within meetings.
3) Reporting and Project Tracking
The Project Tracker is a Microsoft List the AWIM team uses to track projects. AWIM Business Planners and Data Scientists leverage the Project Tracker to track their projects and identify needed signoffs and reviews. The PM will be responsible for helping create and update projects and flag when topics are ready to be scheduled for a review on behalf of Azure Business Planners. They will also partner closely with the AWIM Business Planners to monitor and coordinate topics for regular standing reviews with the AWIM VP.
The PM will also be responsible for managing the Behavioral Economics Programs PowerBI dashboard. Technical proficiency in PowerBI is not required as the dashboard can be managed by anybody proficient in Microsoft Office. Guidance will be provided by the ROADS Data Scientist.
4) Support of Major ROADS Team Initiatives
The PM may also be asked to provide support for other non-Behavioral Economics ROADS teams initiatives as necessary.
