Typical Day in the Role
Purpose of the Team:
The purpose of this team is looking for someone who has prior administrative project management skills, that kind of person would fit well, as during the assignment the other FTEs can drive the bigger projects while this resource assists.
Key projects:
This role will contribute to focusing on the marketing aspect of demand and wholesale. Please note this is not a creative role, it is more on the business side of marketing, the actual road maps and supporting data, and not creating campaigns.
Typical task breakdown and operating rhythm:
The role will consist of 20% Meeting and 80% Heads down.

Note to Suppliers - The Microsoft sponsor is looking for a Jr level project manager non tech resource. 3-4 years of prior experience and must have high proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel. When submitting candidates, please include the resume and example PowerPoint that they have done. If the Microsoft sponsor is interested in speaking to the candidate, during the HSA the candidate will be expected to screenshare how using Excel.
Summary:
The main function of a non-IT project manager is to plan, direct, or coordinate activities in such fields as engineering, research and development, financial systems and product roll-out, etc or any other non-IT based project.
Job Responsibilities:
Use data from internal and external sources to analyze performance, identify trends, and develop actionable insights related to Surface device promotions
Generate monthly/quarterly reports to summarize promotion performance and insights that will be used for executive leadership reviews
Create and manage a central repository for promotion reports, data files, and dashboards that can be accessed by others
Manage and maintain an existing intake process to facilitate field sales requests for launch readiness support
Coordinate projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities.
Skills:
High proficiency with Excel;
Able to manipulate pivot tables using existing data cubes, build net-new tables of data in a workbook by joining multiple outputs of data, and find and implement a new function never used before
Strong project manager:
Able to define specific outcomes, build a project plan with key milestones, lead tracking reviews with cross-functional stakeholders to drive accountability, and identify areas to optimize existing processes
Proficient with PowerPoint storytelling;
Able to create slides that tell a story through a combination of datapoints, charts/tables, and main point bullets
Self-starter that can identify opportunities within their existing projects and then take immediate action without requiring specific guidance on every next step
Concise and clear written/verbal communicator, and comfortable asking questions to ensure theres clarity on a given topic and a shared understanding of priorities and expectations
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field preferred.
PMI or PMP certification preferred.
3+ years in experience required.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
Familiar with writing prompts for AI tools (Copilot, ChatGPT, etc)
Ability to build a PowerBI dashboard
Prior experience at Microsoft
