We are seeking a highly motivated individual with an entrepreneurial spirit to join a dynamic team working on exciting, multi-phase, technically engaging, and impactful projects. The successful candidate will manage a variety of environmental projects including Brownfield/Voluntary Clean-up Program sites, RCRA sites, Landfill Sites, and Phase I/II ESAs. The Project Manager will manage and evaluate field and lab data, prepare proposals, assessment and clean-up work plans and reports, and supervise contractors and drillers, as needed. The individual will also perform field work including groundwater and soil sampling. The ideal candidate will enjoy a mix of office and field time and have had experience managing similar types of projects.
Requirements
Job Responsibilities:
Manage multiple on-going and short duration projects
Perform and / or supervise field activities and drilling on environmental projects
Prepare and track budgets, prepare proposals, work plans, and reports
Data presentation, map creation, and report preparation
Communicate effectively with clients and local and state regulators
Prepare deliverables on time and within budget
Maintain open communication with project team members
Performing field work primarily throughout Alabama
Represent the company in a professional manner and in line with firm's core values
Conduct work to professional standards and following firm's QA/QC policy
Qualifications:
B.S. degree in Geology, Environmental Science, or Engineering preferred
5-10 years of experience in a related local environmental position
40 Hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification preferred but not required
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to work in a fast-paced environmental consulting team environment.
Ability to work within a multi-disciplined group of professionals.
Strong communication skills (active listening, written, and verbal)
Organized with strong attention to detail
Highly motivated, with excellent client service skills and a positive attitude
Strong problem-solving skills
Valid AL driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation
Skills and Abilities:
Computer skills including Microsoft office (word processing, database, spreadsheet) and GIS (ArcMap) preferred, and / or ability to learn programs with proper comprehensive training.
Field equipment use such as a photo-ionization detector (PID), pumps, and meters preferred, and / or ability to learn the operation of the equipment with proper comprehensive training.
