Responsibilities:
Ensure that product is in compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as all applicable state and federal regulations, including but not limited to company QA policies and USDA regulations.
Ensure that all production lines start up in a timely manner
Ensure all work stations are operational and employees are assigned to each area, following the rotation records
Oversee day-to-day duties performed by hourly associates to ensure that all product is pressed in a safe manner that ensures the highest quality.
Monitor and promote humane handling of birds
Manage day-to-day operations including performance management and constructive discipline of associates. Supervise associates ensuring correct rotation and ergonomically correct postures and assignments.
Assign job tasks and delegate effectively
Manage associate's time in Kronos
Set up equipment as needed, in the Evisceration area
Monitor departmental goals and KPI's with associates
Monitor associate safety;
perform walk thru safety audits;
participate in safety meetings;
distribute and facilitate monthly OSHA topic
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Specific knowledge of equipment and PPE
Basic math skills to track departmental KPI's
Basic computer skills to accurately input time in Kronos
Read, write, and speak English. Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Haitian Creole preferred.
Basic mechanical knowledge is helpful
Knowledge of poultry slaughter processes

Education &
Experience:

Bachelor of Science degree in Business, Poultry, Animal or Food Science or related field preferred
3-5 years’ experience in a leadership role or have successfully completed Butterball’s Leadership Apprentice Program
Experience in poultry/meat food manufacturing helpful
