You will be responsible for SCoPES, a nationally recognized methodology for specific loss cost that is widely used by insurance carriers across the United States for evaluating losses for commercial property, a systematic, engineering-based analysis of hazards and related risks of commercial properties that leverages the COPE characteristic and yields a schedule result
US Underwriting Knowledge

5 years Loss Control and/or insurance underwriting experience
In-depth knowledge of federal and state insurance regulations governing commercial insurance in the United States. Staying updated on any changes or updates to regulations that may impact product offerings.
Understanding of the specific needs and ability to identify emerging risks faced by businesses in the United States spread across different industries.
Familiarity with standard policy forms and endorsements used in the U.S. commercial insurance market.
US Insurance Market
Ability to navigate and interpret the complex regulatory landscape of the U.S. commercial insurance market. (Local, State and Federal)
Conduct thorough risk assessments to understand the unique challenges and opportunities in different industry sectors. (Emerging business types and insurance trends)
Tailor insurance products to address specific risks prevalent in the U.S. market.
Monitor competitors' product offerings, pricing strategies, and market positioning.
Ability to explain complex insurance concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
Adherence to ethical standards and understanding of legal obligations in the insurance industry. Mitigating legal risks associated with policy language and insurance processes.
Product Owner Experience
Strong critical thinking, analytical problem-solving and collaboration skills
Excellent strategic and critical thinking abilities
Knowledge of Agile software development principles and use of the JIRA platform
Working knowledge of tools such as Excel, Power BI, or Tableau to analyze and present data
The ability to extract critical business insights from large quantities of data
Effectively communicate product features, benefits, and terms (ex. Mass Timber) to customers, risk engineering, actuarial and other internal stakeholders.
