Molecular Instruments, Inc. () is a biotechnology startup pioneering programmable molecular technologies for multiplexed quantitative bioimaging. We are looking for talented product-oriented people to help grow our company and develop next-generation capabilities using our state-of-the-art imaging reagents.
Job duties:
Develop and maintain in-depth technical and strategic understanding of how products are planned, designed, validated, manufactured, and distributed at scale
Contribute to the planning, design, and execution of product roadmap, including feasibility evaluation, trade-off studies, technology development, and performance validation
Lead exploration and evaluation of new tools, techniques and materials, and engage with both external vendors and internal team members to improve company capabilities/efficiency and product performance
Conduct all aspects of process development requisite for introducing new techniques into production or R&
D, including technology identification, risk evaluations, experimental design, data collection, process optimization, documentation and staff training
Provide support to all departments within the company through process capability analysis, designing fixtures, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and process changes
Develop software tools to support manufacturing, operations, R&
D teams, and customers
Conduct market research to inform company’s product strategy through varying channels, including primary and secondary methods
Proactively monitor and engage with customers to ensure their successful use of our products and to identify potential key partnerships and tailored applications

Requirements
Preferred educational and experimental background:
BS/MS or equivalent and 3+ years of wet lab experience. Strong familiarity with standard laboratory practices. Experience in fluorescence microscopy, in situ hybridization, immunohistochemistry, blotting techniques, quantitative analysis of experimental data, and programming/scripting is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
A successful applicant must be dedicated, responsible, detail-oriented, highly organized, proactive, efficient and capable of working closely and communicating with others in the multiple teams. Applicant must keep an accurate, detailed and neat lab notebook. Attention to detail in constructing grammatically correct emails is essential. The following wet lab skills are required:
polyacrylamide and agarose gel electrophoresis and general molecular biology experience. The following wet lab skills are preferred but not required:
in situ hybridization, immunohistochemistry, oligonucleotide synthesis, HPLC purification. Previous wet lab experience, general technical dexterity, dedication, organization, and scientific curiosity are strongly valued. The following scripting languages are valued:
MATLAB, Python, C/C++, or other equivalent.

We determine your level based on your experience, skill, education, and other bona fide factors. The salary will fall within the bands below.
Product Associate I:
$47,000 - $67,000
Product Associate II:
$51,000 - $72,000
It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
