Position Purpose:
The Process Safety Management (PSM) Engineer provides guidance and support to PSM-covered facilities involving solvent recovery, fuel blending, and incineration processes. The position will focus on assessing risk, implementing improvements/standards, and ensuring operational processes, policies, and procedures meet the OSHA PSM compliance criteria.
This is a remote position that requires travel to PSM-covered facilities across the U.S.
Primary Duties/responsibilities:
Provide support at PSM-covered facilities by leading or scribing Process Hazard Assessments including documentation and reporting requirements.
Work with local site personnel to progress PHA recommendations through to completion status - including onsite technical support, sharing of best practices and assistance in development of procedures and technical documents.
Participate in PSM and RMP Compliance Audits of covered facilities and assist in the assessment of common opportunities across the business unit with a focus on developing and implementing action plans to address identified opportunities.
Assist the ESS PSM team to 1) develop standardized PSM training for all PSM-covered sites and 2) develop an ESS PSM centralized intranet page with direct responsibilities for the upkeep and content of the site - including training material, Policies and Procedures, and compliance calendars.
Assist PSM-covered facilities in assessing progress against technical VNA standard deployment. Create a consistent comprehensive overview of focus areas and assist with the documentation and implementation of action plans across the VNA zone
Support sites’ PSM team by serving as a technical resource in areas such as new project hazard identification, root cause analysis, incident investigations, mechanical integrity, new stream PSM applicability assessments, etc.
