We are seeking an experienced AI/ML architect and ML platform engineer who is passionate about data, with a strong background in data analytics and Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) principles. This role is pivotal in securing the efficient and compliant operations of our AI/ML initiatives, ensuring successful project delivery.
The Role
As an AI architect and ML platform engineer, you will join our dynamic team at Genmab and be responsible for designing, building, and managing secure and scalable AI cloud architectures to build an ML platform to standardize the technology stack. This will support our AI/ML and data-driven projects around best practices and better enable teams across projects and workflows. This role requires a strategic thinker with a keen interest for hands-on development, a deep knowledge of cloud technologies, platform engineering, data governance, compliance, and a desire to drive continuous improvement.
We have a hybrid model that requires living within a commutable distance to our Princeton, NJ site.
Responsibilities
Actively elevate and scale the company's AI technical capabilities, ensuring AI/ML architectures and platforms can support growing demands and complex data-driven projects.
Lead the development and establishment of a comprehensive core AI/ML product architecture and platform operations strategy across Data Science and AI (DSAI), positioning the company at the forefront of AI and analytics innovations.
Transition AI solutions from architectural designs to practical, efficient deployment and maintenance, ensuring scalability and robust performance in production environments.
Establish and oversee a dedicated maintenance and support engineering framework for AI products to ensure continuous operational efficiency and reliability.
Foster strong collaborative relationships with IT cloud/network, infrastructure, enterprise architecture, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration of AI solutions into the company's broader technology ecosystem.
Build a “go-to-architecture"
framework and scalable platform technology components that are flexible for deploying existing and future ML models and products with an agile mindset, including scalable architecture for large language models (LLM’s).
Provide expertise in DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation to improve the efficiency of development and deployment processes.
Ensure compliance with risk, compliance, and data governance standards by implementing strong security measures and staying updated on industry best practices.
Lead and participate in the continuous improvement of AI cloud-based solutions, proactively finding ways to optimize performance, cost, and resource utilization.
Lead the assessment and adoption of new AI cloud technologies and practices.
Keep up with emerging technologies and trends in AI/ML, cloud computing, Large Language Models (LLMs) architecture and infrastructure as code, high-performance computing, suggesting innovative solutions to enhance our capabilities.
Requirements
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
10+ years of experience driving successful software development projects in technical roles such as software development, systems engineering or infrastructure administration.
Cloud Solution Architecture experience (IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS).
Proven experience as an AI/ML cloud Architect or similar role, with a focus on designing and implementing AI cloud solutions in a mid-size or larger organization.
Strong expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, with a solid understanding of cloud-native services and architectures.
Experience in DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools (GitLab, GitHub, Azure DevOps).
Experience building and deploying successful architectures of LLM’s in operation.
Proficiency in containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
In-depth knowledge of security, risk management, compliance, and data governance principles in cloud environments.
Knowledge of infrastructure as code (Terraform, AWS CloudFormation).
Strong scripting and automation skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional and diverse teams.
For US based candidates, the proposed salary band for this position is as follows:
$170,625.00---$284,375.00The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation, such as bonuses.
