Program Summary:
The qualifying Operator will participate in an accelerated training program to grow their career in the RRD manufacturing environment that features 4 (four) graduating steps of increasing skill level, responsibility, and pay. This training program may be completed in as few as 18 months or as many as 30 months (with manager approval), depending on the participant’s pace of progress. Upon graduating from the program, the participant will be fully qualified and accountable to assume the duties and receive the compensation of an experienced Operator.
Position Summary
Directs and coordinates crew activities to operate presses in various degrees of size and complexity in order to obtain maximum production according to established quality standards.
Responsibilities:
The successful Operator will learn and perform the following:
Become proficient in print and manufacturing terminology.
Work closely with the management team to understand and assist with implementing action plans to achieve department objectives.
Assume a leadership role in directing crew activities to meet production deadlines safely and efficiently.
Produce a quality product that exceeds our customer’s expectations, following the requirements of documented processes as defined in the Quality Management System.
Assist management with supporting and implementing Continuous Improvement initiatives, departmental maintenance activities, training, safety and special projects.
Assists with training of new employees and directs all crew activities connected with the operation of the press.
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of chemicals and materials used in production, their interactions, danger signs, and disposal methods.
Adhere to and promote all safety policies and procedures including, but not limited to the proper handling of hazardous waste, lock out – tag out rules and eye protection policies.
Reinforce safety training and safe work practices;
participate in safety meetings.
Comply with company standard operating procedures and policies for equipment operation.
Maintain a clean work area by properly storing supplies and equipment, removing waste, cleaning tools and eliminating spills.
Recognize diversity. Be inclusive and act professionally with all people in the work environment.
Perform minor repairs and preventive maintenance.
Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.
