Farris Engineering, a well-established and respected leader in the engineering industry for over 50 years, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Power Systems Electrical Engineer to join our team in Omaha, NE.

As a Power Systems Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, analysis, and troubleshooting of electrical power systems for a wide range of projects. You will work collaboratively with project teams to deliver innovative and cost-effective solutions that meet our clients' needs.
Requirements
Key responsibilities:
Design and analyze electrical power systems including power distribution, lighting, grounding, and protection systems
Experience in design of medium and high voltage power systems, building power, lighting, and voltage systems
Must understand engineering power systems and generator sizing
Must have a thorough understanding of sustainable design principles such as solar photo voltaic, wind electric generation.
Must have a thorough understanding of ground fault and arc fault safety devices.
Prepare technical specifications, reports, and other project deliverables
Coordinate with project teams and clients to ensure successful project execution
Perform site visits and inspections as needed
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
Minimum of 10 years of experience in power systems design
Proficiency in using electrical design software such as ETAP or SKM, as well as REVIT and AutoCAD.
Strong knowledge of applicable codes and standards, including NEC, NFPA, and IEEE
Experience with power system analysis tools
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
