We are looking for aPower Lineman/Journeyman Linemanto join us in the Melbourne, FL market.
This position performs skilled electrical work of a journeyman level in the installation, repair modification, and troubleshooting of electrical wiring and distribution systems on all voltages up to 480 volts for all campus facilities.
Responsibilities:
Build and maintain electric distribution systems;
Be responsible for spotting all utilities when necessary by digging them up so they can be verified;
Splice Secondary cables and Primary cables, dig pits &
trenches and safely spot utilities in the bore path as necessary to complete the work;
Safely dig adequate pits, approximately 4 1/2 feet deep, and trenches;
Install, alter, maintain, and repair various wiring systems including their components such as receptacles, switches, power supply transformers, conduit, etc. in buildings, including building electrical feeders on all voltages up to and including 480 volts;
Follow safety rules and practices (Wearing PPE, Set-up Work Zone, Proper Digging Techniques);
Requirements
A minimum of 3 years of experience in the Power Industry;
A valid and unrestricted CDL class A/B;
Knowledge of the tooling for line work and how to use, adjust, and calibrate them;
Knowledge of electric safety and how electricity works. (Static, AC, DC, Grounding, Phases, Step Potential);
Knowledge of the proper methods for determining if a line is energized or not;
Knowledge of how to phase cables, switch, check rotation, build and change out a Transformer.
