Job Description
ThePsychiatric Nurse Practitioner is responsible for proving psychiatric assessments and ongoing treatment to all clients.
Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Medical Director, provides psychiatric assessments, ongoing medication monitoring and discharge assessments of all clients.
Assists in the coordination and integration of medical/nursing services with other client care services to ensure continuity of care for each client.
Participating in team conferences with the multidisciplinary team and the client care committee (if the facility chooses to establish a client care committee).
Assists with emergency situations and make immediate referrals.
Maintains the Confidential nature of all clients and facility activities.
Maintains required Training &
Continuing Education.
Maintains Standards of Ethical Conduct.
Complies with all Policies and Procedures.
Effectively communicates concerns about client health to the Medical Director/Director of Nursing, treatment team, staff membersand follows up as necessary.
Facilitates medication education for new clients and for all other clients starting new medications.
Assists the treatment team in incorporating medical issues into treatment planning.
Participate in regular department meetings and staff meetings.
Maintains effective communication between outside medical services and the facility.
Keeps and shares records and equipment.
Maintains up-to-date training in CPR, First Aid, Infection Control, Fire Safety, and other areas mandated by organizational policies.
