What You'll Do
As a Mattson Pilot Plant Technician and Maintenance Mechanic, you’ll be responsible for the following:
Responsible for Pilot Plant equipment operations that includes the set up of equipment per test parameters, operation, maintenance, cleaning, basic installation and tear-down of equipment
Operate a wide range of equipment including existing systems as well as new technology
Mechanically inclined with basic knowledge of repair and maintenance of commonly used food processing and standard commissary/commercial kitchen type equipment
Maintains parts, supplies, and documentation as required for all equipment
Schedule or perform routine maintenance per the manufacturer recommendations
Performs all duties safely, with reliable results, following appropriate facility and Pilot Plant SOP's, cGMP's, GLPs.
Ability to maintain a safe, sanitary and orderly work environment
Assist and support Food Scientists with Pilot Plant operations in order to meet timelines and project objectives.
Interface with customers/clients as needed during on-site trials
Must be able to work independently as necessary, taking initiative and using good judgment to solve routine problems with minimal assistance or supervision
Work to improve efficiencies and workflow with equipment and systems
Move equipment to on or offsite storage as requested
Initiate and support upgrades to Pilot Plant facilities as skills permit, and per supervisor approval
Working knowledge of Word, Excel and Google SuiteProfessional and positive attitude in dealing with colleagues, suppliers and clients
Good verbal and written communication skills
Frequently lift, carry and push light to heavy materials up to 50 lbs
Ability to stand and walk for most of the day while working in the lab or pilot plant
Must learn and practice the safe operation of a forklift
Travel as required
Other duties as assigned
Requirements
About You
High school diploma or GED
Quality Assurance, Lab experience or Associates Degree in Science with 1-2 years in a food or beverage related facility is a plus.
Demonstration of ability to work collaboratively with small teams or individuals.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Must be a person of high integrity and commitment and possess a strong work ethic.
Must be able to work independently and proactively get the job done.
Nice to Have
Experience with microthermics, retort and/or extrusion
Knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration
Knowledge of Google Sheets, Docs, Slides

Salary Range:
$55,000 - 85,000
