Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive physical medicine and rehabilitation services to patients with various musculoskeletal, neurological, and orthopedic conditions.
Conduct thorough patient assessments, including physical exams and review of medical histories.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans focusing on improving patient mobility, function, and quality of life.
Utilize a variety of therapeutic techniques, including physical therapy, occupational therapy, medications, and interventional procedures.
Coordinate care with a multidisciplinary team, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
Educate patients and their families about conditions, treatments, and preventive measures.
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and documentation.
Participate in continuous education and professional development activities to stay current with advancements in physical medicine and rehabilitation.
Requirements:
Education:
Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
Certification:
Board certification in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&
R).
Licensure:
Valid medical license to practice in the state of Massachusetts.
Experience:
Experience in physiatry, preferably in a clinical setting.
Skills:
Strong diagnostic and clinical skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform physical examinations and procedures, and to sit or stand for extended periods.
