Job Description
Norco is currently seeking an individual to fill ourPharmacy Technician position. ThePharmacy Technicianassists in dispensing prescription medications, providing healthcare products, and performing various administrative tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the pharmacy under the supervision of the pharmacist.Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Prepare prescription orders by counting, pouring, measuring, and weighing medications according to prescription orders under the supervision of the pharmacist
Maintain proper storage and security conditions for drugs. Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed. Ensure proper labeling and packaging of medications
Process prescription orders through insurance systems. Verify insurance coverage and communicate with insurance providers to resolve any issues or discrepancies
Answer billing and general customer questions
Perform various administrative duties such as data entry, filing, answering phones, and managing payments.
Maintain accurate patient records and prescription files.
Ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations, including HIPAA, FDA, and BOP guidelines
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy area
Initiate and complete new intakes and assist in setting up new accounts where applicable
Route patient information to appropriate personnel/departments as necessary to order, deliver and bill medical products and services
