Position Summary:
The Pharmacy Clinical Coordinator assists the Director of Pharmacy in various duties, supporting compounding, dispensing, ordering, and proper storage of pharmaceuticals. This role ensures safe, cost-effective medication therapies for patients, coordinates clinical activities, and contributes to the quality and effective operation of the department.
Essential Functions:
Ensures safe, appropriate, cost-effective medication therapies for patients according to established policies, procedures, and protocols.
Provides education and information on pharmaceutical care and drug therapy.
Coordinates Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee.
Participates and coordinates pharmacy role in Infection Control and Antibiotic Stewardship activities.
Reviews clinical activities of the pharmacy and contributes to its quality and effective operation.
Assists with training, orientation, and supervision of new employees and pharmacy technicians.
Performs other duties related to the practice of pharmacy as required.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education:
Graduate of an accredited College of Pharmacy Program;
Doctor of Pharmacy preferred.
Required Licenses:
Pharmacist licensure in the State of WV.
