Job Description
The primary role is to function as a Licensed Pharmacist engaged in pharmacy practice. The position is responsible for the pharmacy's daily operations, including preparing, dispensing, and delivering medications, providing pharmaceutical care to patients, and interacting with healthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective medication therapy.This practice of pharmacy may include but is not limitedto:
Patient counseling,dispensing of drugs,monitoring appropriate drug use, providing druginformation, and ensuring proper documentation and record keeping for all prescriptions. Providing information on therapeutic values, reactions, drug interactions, and side effects;
supervising licensed pharmacy technicians assisting in pharmacy practice;
complying with Federal,State, and local pharmacy laws and HIPAA guidelines,carrying out interventions when appropriate,adding recommendations in patient notes.
Responsibilities:
Receive, review, and processprescription orders
Review and assess therapy for each prescription to determine therapeuticappropriateness
Interact with Patient Care Coordinators, pharmacy technicians, PSPs, and other clinicians tocoordinate medication preparation and delivery
Consultpatients regarding patient medication and administration of drugs
Interact with patients, physicians, and third-party providers
Knowledge, understanding, and compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations thatgovern the practice of pharmacy, as well as HIPAA policies and procedures
Provide clinical and pharmaceutical education and in-service training for staff
Manage, disinfect, and clean returned medical devices.
Processes medical device returns and conducts functional testing on devices as appropriate
The position requires to complete role-based training requirements, including passing certifications and competency assessments before the conclusion of the training period
Maintain a work environment that upholds privacy standards required by law and AbbVie compliance practices
