We are looking for a meticulous and knowledgeable Payroll Specialist to join our team. This role involves processing payroll for multiple companies across various states, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. The Payroll Specialist will proactively analyze, audit, reconcile, and resolve payroll processing issues, ensuring timely and accurate payroll distribution.
Payroll Processing:
- Process payroll for multiple companies in various states, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Calculate and process pay adjustments, bonuses, and other payroll-related changes.
- Maintain payroll records, including earnings, deductions, and taxes.
- Process payroll for union employees, ensuring adherence to union agreements and regulations
Tax and Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure accurate calculation and timely payment of federal, state, and local taxes.
- Register and maintain business entities' tax accounts with state and local jurisdictions.
- Stay current with changes in payroll laws and regulations.
Employee Support:
- Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees, providing clear and accurate information.
- Assist with the resolution of payroll discrepancies and issues.
- Provide support and guidance to employees on payroll matters.
System Management:
- Enter and update employee information in the payroll system.
- Conduct regular audits of payroll data to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Assist with the implementation and maintenance of payroll software and systems.
- Responsible for training and assisting managers and employees in using ADP for processes and self-service
Reporting and Documentation:
- Generate and distribute payroll reports to management as required.
- Maintain accurate and organized payroll records.
- Assist with various audits.
- Reconcile employee benefits to the benefit invoices.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of payroll laws and regulations, including federal, state, and local tax requirements.
- Proficiency with payroll software (e.G., ADP, Paycom, or similar systems).
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to partner with others to collectively meet deadlines and resolve issues.
- Detail-oriented and accuracy-focused.
- Willingness to take on new tasks and learn new procedures and processes.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
