As an Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will work closely with Occupational Therapists to implement treatment plans, assess patient progress, and provide hands-on therapeutic interventions. By assisting patients in developing, recovering, and improving the skills necessary for daily living and working, you will play a vital role in helping our clients achieve their goals.
Responsibilities
Assist Occupational Therapists in the evaluation and assessment of patients' functional abilities and limitations.
Provide direct patient care by implementing treatment plans and interventions under the supervision of Occupational Therapists.
Help patients regain independence in activities of daily living, such as dressing, bathing, and feeding.
Instruct patients and their families on therapeutic exercises and strategies to improve mobility and strength.
Prepare and maintain accurate documentation of patient progress, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, social workers, and speech therapists, to provide comprehensive care.
Follow infection control and safety protocols to maintain a safe environment for patients.
Requirements
Associate's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
Valid Occupational Therapy Assistant license in [state].
CPR certification.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with both patients and healthcare professionals.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of occupational therapy techniques and best practices.
Experience working with a diverse patient population, preferably in a home health care setting.
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills to maintain accurate patient records.
