Nutrition/Dietary Assistant - 25 hours/week

The Gathering Place (Brattleboro Area Adult Day Services) is an Adult Day program serving Windham County Vermont. We serve adults with a wide range of physical and cognitive abilities. Our participants enjoy music, arts, games, exercise, and companionship - just to name a few!
We are currently seeking a reliable and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Nutrition/Dietary Assistant. Entry-level candidates with a sincere interest in working with older adults and adult with disabilities welcomed.
Responsibilities include:
Receive meals from vendor, record temperatures and ensure appropriate number of meals are delivered.
Serving meals according to established menus and dietary guidelines.
Cleaning and sanitizing dishes and food preparation and dining areas. Assist with laundry.
Documentation of meal counts, meal ordering, food and appliance temperatures.
Ensure participants with special dietary needs or restrictions (allergies, texture, cut ups, etc.) are serve appropriately.
Ordering and stocking food and supplies as needed.
May assist and provide companionship and monitoring of participants during non-food service times.
Works independently
ServSafe required (may be obtained after hire).
Schedule:
Monday-Friday 9:
30AM-2:
30PM. No weekends or evenings;
we are closed major holidays.
Rate of pay:
$15-$17+ depending on experience and qualifications.
Benefits include up to 15 days paid time off in the first year (accrued based on hours worked) plus 7 paid holidays and dental, vision, life, LTD and AD&

References required and verification of past employment history.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
Prior experience in food service or dietary/nutrition preferred, but not required.
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
Basic understanding of nutrition and special dietary needs.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
ServSafe required (may be obtained post hire).
