Summary
As the Nursing Director for the Operating Room, you will serve as the department administrator, responsible for establishing and enforcing policies, procedures, standards, and objectives. You will direct and supervise staff, manage workflow, and maintain fiscal accountability. This role will be handling the day shift of the appointed facility's Nursing department, ensuring alignment with the hospitals mission, vision, goals, and objectives. You will focus on delivering exceptional care to patients, collaborating with physicians, supporting employees, engaging volunteers, and serving the community.
Responsibilities
Establish and enforce policies, procedures, standards, and objectives.
Direct and supervise nursing staff and department workflow.
Manage department budget and ensure fiscal accountability.
Continuously assess, improve, coordinate, and integrate department services and standards of care.
Approve timekeeping, conduct employee evaluations, and meet regulatory standards.
Approve supply orders and lead department strategic planning.
Utilize independent decision-making skills in various situations.
Maintain high accuracy in performing diverse responsibilities.
Frequently interact with employees, physicians, customers, community individuals, and volunteers.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Management, or related field, or equivalent experience. Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) is preferred
Five years of nursing management experience in a hospital setting, with three years of supervisory experience.
Current Arizona Registered Nurse License.
Training in wound care and hyperbaric therapy from a nationally recognized provider is required with a preference for a WOCN certification
