Night Shift Veterinary Technician
job description
Assist veterinarians in providing medical care to patients
- Perform routine procedures such as Venipuncture, Blood pressure, Wound care, bandages
- Calculate drugs and administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Induction of anesthesia, monitor critical patients during surgery and recovery
- Take appropriate radiographs for each body area and submit for consult in timely manner
- Perform laboratory tests and analyze results
- Set up and administer blood products and antivenom
- Maintain accurate records of patient care
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a veterinary technician program or certification encouraged
- Previous experience working in a veterinary hospital for 2 years
- Knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
- Proficient in handling and restraining animals safely and compassionately
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
