Western Digital is seeking a New College Graduate to join its HDD Operations team in San Jose, CA. The candidate will participate in the process development and manufacturing implementation of new RIE (reactive ion etch) processes and technologies for magnetic recording head wafer manufacturing in a clean room environment.
Other responsibilities will include:
Process sustaining, improvement, and production line support.
Documenting processes and procedures, training and certifying technicians/operators, and conducting periodic audits.
Planning and managingprojects with limited supervision, and working cross-functionally with other teams to transfer and implement new products, processes, and tooling into production.
Troubleshootingline issues,conducting defect analysis and root cause analysis, and implementing corrective and preventive actions to improve yield, cycle time and cost.
The candidate should have good working knowledge of vacuum process, equipment, metrologies, and thin film dry etch fundamentals. The candidate’s skillset should include a problem-solving mindset, strong verbal and written communication, and the ability to thrive in a team environment.
