Network Engineer

Job Description
We are seeking a Network Engineer for a contract-to-hire role. This role can work remotely from anywhere within the U.S. Due to the nature of the projects being supported,this role will require the selected candidate to be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
In this role, you will provide network device maintenance and implementation to a service provider backbone and customer aggregation network. This role will serve as an escalation point for network issues, as well as provisioning customer services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Handle escalated trouble calls.
Work closely with the NOC, deployment engineers, and carriers to resolve network issues.
Work with systems engineering to automate as many networks provisioning and turn up tasks as possible.
Perform installation and integration of backbone equipment in network.
Provide detailed equipment installation specifications and drawings.
Interface with key network partners.
Work withDWDMengineering team to make sure capacity is provisioned as needed to ensure a congestion free and fully protected IP network.
Ensure all site records are updated and accurate.
Ensure all network procedures and policies are followed.
Coordinate network parts inventory.
Design and provision network services for customers.
Perform maintenance on network equipment when needed.
Attend various meetings with management, other departments, and vendors to ensure company objectives are met.
Participate in inter-departmental planning meetings to coordinate and communicate activities related to the successful completion of projects.
Support Network Engineering, Network deployment and Service Architecture needs across the shared backbone infrastructure.
Work closely with Network Operations personnel to hand-off newly deployed equipment and customer services for ongoing surveillance and management.
