The Northeast Microelectronics Coalition (NEMC) Hub is a new division of the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative (MassTech) bringing together industry leaders, academic institutions, and innovative startups. We're building a dynamic community to foster collaboration and accelerate progress in domestic microelectronics. The Marketing Intern will support the success of the NEMC Hub’s launch and member engagement strategy, assisting the NEMC Hub management in executing a variety of day-to-day responsibilities in tandem with aiding longer term strategic projects and priorities.
About You:
You're a highly motivated rising Junior or Senior currently enrolled in four-year degree program or graduate program or have 2-4 years of post secondary school work experience, with focus on marketing, business, advertising or related field of study with a keen eye for detail and a passion for connecting people. You're a quick learner with excellent communication and organizational skills, and proficient in Microsoft Office 365 tools (Airtable familiarity a plus). You thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy tackling a variety of tasks. Your responsibilities include:
Member Management:
- Clean-up and organize existing member data in Airtable database.
- Craft and deploy email campaigns to existing and new members to gather member information (company profiles, areas of interest, agreements, acknowledgements).
- Assist in developing and implementing a new member onboarding process.
Community Building:
- Research and curate internal and external event calendars relevant to the Hub's focus.
- Develop engagement plans for virtual and in-person events showcasing industry expertise, startup innovations, and academic breakthroughs.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Deploy regular communications using email and online forums to current and prospective members.
- Assist in setting up a members-only section of the NEMC Hub website.
Website Development:
- Research and draft content for the NEMC Hub’s public website, focusing on clear and informative page structure.
Additional Tasks:
- Provide administrative and organizational support to the NEMC Hub management team.
- Assist with research and data analysis as needed.
You'll gain valuable experience in the following areas:
- Learn the intricacies of launching and managing a consortium.
- Develop strong data management skills using tools like Airtable.
- Hone your communication and outreach abilities.
- Gain experience in creating and implementing engagement plans.
- Contribute to the development of a brand-new online community platform.
- Network with industry leaders, academics, and entrepreneurs.
The expected start date is May 15-Jun 1, 2024. The hired intern will work 30-40 hours per week.
PLEASE NOTE:
THIS POSITION REQUIRES CANDIDATES TO BE ABLE TO WORK IN WESTBOROUGH, MASSACHUSETTS AT LEAST TWO DAYS PER WEEK. THIS IS NOT A FULL-TIME REMOTE POSITION.
